Remembering Service
Thank you to all who attended and were involved in our Remembering Service at St. John's on 1st November.
Families gathered to listen to hymns, pray and reflect on the times and seasons of life.
In the two weeks prior to the service there had been an opportunity for anyone who wished, to name a stone in memory of those they have loved and lost. These were placed on our Cross of Remembering. Those names along with others were read out during the service and candles lit in memory of them all.
At the end of the service everyone took home a pack of forget-me-not seeds to plant and create a perpetual living memory of their loved ones.
Those who couldn’t attend because of the limited capacity (under Covid 19 regulations) received a Remembering Bag so that they could follow the online service at home, light a candle and say a prayer. They, like everyone in church, also had a packet of forget-me-not seeds to grow a perpetual memory of their loved ones.
